ArtyBra 2012 is doing it for the Girls (and the Boys!)

Yes, we are doing it again – ArtyBra 2012 is underway.  Blue Mountains Cancer Help is appealing to your creative spirit to decorate an ArtyBra. You can run the full gamut of your imagination – you can paint, sculpt, stitch, construct or embellish your individual ArtyBra. An ArtyBra that says YOU!

Give your ArtyBra a name and donate it to Blue Mountains Cancer Help, who will exhibit the ArtyBras in venues for a period then auction each of them at a function to the highest bidder. All proceeds will go to Blue Mountains Cancer Help.

Join artists Jane Canfield, Sophie Seeger and Adele Weiss; Josophan’s Chocolates’ Jodie Van Der Velden; Bygone Beauties and many others and lend your support to Blue Mountains Cancer Help by creating and donating an ArtyBra.

Turn a bra into a thing of wonder, a joyous, decorative, fantastic fantasy.   It can be wild, it can be pretty, it can be your greatest fantasy. Whether you use feathers or frills, leather or lace, colourful or pastel paints, buttons, beads or bows, ribbons or cords, wire or wax, wonderful fabrics or other fancy stuff or a combination of them all. Whether an individual ArtyBra or a group ArtyBra - just do it.

Your involvement in this project will assist the work of Blue Mountains Cancer Help to support, and raise awareness of, people facing the challenges of living with cancer.

“ArtyBra was a special event,” said Blue Mountains Cancer Help President Robyn Yates, “which not only raised awareness of our services but excited the artistic side of our members and many artists, both local and from Sydney.  We look forward to another ArtyBra experience!”

The ArtyBra Project® is an initiative of Blue Mountains Cancer Help, a locally based organisation established to provide support for local residents who have been diagnosed with cancer. Blue Mountains Cancer Help is funded through its Op-Shops, fund raising, bequests and donations.

The inaugual ArtyBra Project in 2010 was a great success with over one hundred fantastic ArtyBras being donated. The ArtyBras were exhibited for a period in galleries in the Blue Mountains and in Sydney and were auctioned at a fun event in the Ballroom of The Carrington Hotel Katoomba. Over $5,000 was raised for Blue Mountains Cancer Help.
